I love this city so much and I'm always reminded of it on Canada Day; the crowds, the street musicians, the festive red and white – people here really know how to celebrate! Jay and I ventured down to Parliament Hill with Tavi, and this year we parked really close because we weren't staying out that late. Usually we park somewhere that seems like it’s a million miles away to avoid down town when tens of thousands of people all try to leave at the same time.
Despite the overcast skies the rain held off, Jay and I watched street performers break dance, dodged rickshaws decked out for the festivities and we stopped by the First Nations exhibit before settling down right beside a giant beaver balloon. Down town was packed but it wasn't insane, our friends managed to track us down despite the crowds!
We headed home not to long ago to put little Tavi to bed. Once she’s asleep we’re going to have our own Canada Day celebration at home, a couple of mojitos and a movie, possibly see some fireworks from our living room window. Happy Canada Day!!
